Liberty Probes for Pelvic Floor Exercisers

A probe is the electrode that carries stimulation from a pelvic floor exerciser to the muscle, so the fit and the condition of the probe matter as much as the device itself. Probes are single-user consumables: the conductive surface wears with repeated cleaning, and one that is scratched, discoloured or no longer comfortable should be replaced. Liberty probes work with TensCare pelvic floor exercisers including Elise, Sure Pro, iTouch Sure and the Perfect PFE range.

Which probe?

• The standard: the Liberty vaginal probe is the one supplied with most exercisers and the default replacement.
• A slimmer fit: Liberty Mini has a narrower body, often chosen where the standard probe feels too large.
• Wider contact area: Liberty+ uses larger plates for more muscle contact.
• With a biofeedback pointer: Liberty Loop and the gold-plated Liberty Gold carry an external pointer that moves as you squeeze, so you can see whether you are contracting the right muscles rather than guessing.
• Rear placement: the Liberty Fit anal probe is used for bowel incontinence programmes and for men.

Also here: the Liberty short lead, for when the lead rather than the probe has failed — usually a break where the wire meets the connector.

Care and use. Use a water-based lubricant such as Go Gel; oil-based products can damage the plating. Wash with mild soap and warm water after each session and air dry — do not boil, autoclave or use alcohol wipes. Always read the label and follow the directions for use. Speak to your doctor before using an internal probe if you are pregnant, have an active urinary or vaginal infection, or have had recent pelvic surgery.
